Out of the blue.
“I thought if you weren’t too busy at work this afternoon, you’d like to hear the roosters crowing in our yard.”
That’s not exactly what my mom said when I called panicked after seeing a missed call from my parents’ cell phone yesterday, but you get the picture.
It was awfully nice to get a phone call out of the blue. And I’m looking forward to seeing my parents in sixteen days.
(NOT my parents’ chickens, by the way.)
