Two for Tuesday.
A couple notes regarding two of the health conditions with which I live:
- I will be hosting an anxiety-focused chat over at the ChronicBabe forums. The Anxiety Disorders Association of America recognizes six forms of anxiety disorders – generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder & agoraphobia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, and specific phobias. If any of those are among your diagnoses (or think they might be), please join me at 6pm PT, 7pm MT, 8pm CT, 9pm ET on Monday, January 9. You must be a member of the forums to chat.
- January is Thyroid Awareness Month and happens to mark seven years since I became all too aware of how a thyroid can malfunction and wreak havoc all over one’s body. If you already have an autoimmune condition, make sure your thyroid levels are checked annually. Two thyroid conditions are also autoimmune – Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (a common form of hypothyroidism) and Graves’ disease (a common form of hyperthyroidism). Those autoimmune conditions can come in pairs, or threes, or more…yikes.
