Disclosure (8/22/2010)
I no longer accept items for review on this blog.
In the past, I did receive books or products to review. I have done my best to ensure full disclosure regarding receiving these items for free in such reviews as well as providing an honest opinion on such items.
I reserve the right to review a book or product purchased on my own.
If you would like me to review a diabetes book or product, I will consider doing so at Diabetes Daily, though please know that I will always provide honest feedback regarding such an item.
Although most of my diabetes blogging has occurred at Diabetes Daily since July 2008, I feel it is wise to disclose relationships I have with organizations due to the prevalence of the subject in the archives here.
Since March 2007, I have been writing columns under paid contract for dLife/LifeMed Media.
In October 2009, I entered into a contract to provide consulting for the American Heart Association’s “Heart of Diabetes” project. I received an honorarium, an all-expenses-paid trip to visit the AHA headquarters in Dallas, and a Flip video camera to document what I do to stay heart healthy with type 2 diabetes.
In June 2010, I participated in the Roche Pharmaceuticals Social Media Summit for Diabetes Thought Leaders. As such, I traveled to Orlando, FL at the company’s expense.
