Denver Restaurant Week, Part 1.
Denver Restaurant Week runs from February 21 – March 6, with over 200 restaurants in the area offering meals for $52.80 for 2 people. Some restaurants are only running their special menus through February 27, the original end of the promotion. This deal makes some of Denver’s top restaurants affordable for many, even in this economy.
Last night, we went to Baur’s Ristorante in downtown Denver:
We both started off with a grilled caesar salad with shaved parmesan and garlic toast. Greg wanted a little more dressing than what was provided, but the grilled romaine added an excellent new touch to a traditional salad.
For our entrees, we chose the two options that had an extra fee added onto the $52.80. I had the Colorado lamb chops and Greg had the 20 oz. porterhouse steak, both accompanied by garlic whipped potatoes, carrots, and asparagus. Greg thought his steak was one of the best he’s had in a long time, while I was sort of ehhh about the lamb chops. But, wow, those potatoes were delicious.
For dessert, we chose the Bananas Foster, prepared tableside with FIRE FIRE FIRE, then added to vanilla bean gelato:
Even with iced tea, cappuccino, and the extra fees for the entrees, the bill was well under $100.00 before tax and tip. What a deal!
Next up: O’s Steak and Seafood, Westminster.
